The police misinterpreted Knox's Italian text message to her boss Patrick Lumba, reading 'certo, ci vediamo poi, buonasera' (certainly, I'll see you later, good evening) as meaning she had made an appointment to meet Patrick that night, when she had simply responded that she wouldn't need to come in to work.
