Subject-representation can be interrupted for the better

Just as neurological processes representing the world or body can break down (blindness, motion blindness, inability to name living things), the brain's representation of a subject internal to the body can be interrupted—and unlike most disruptions this one is for the better, halting the usual cascade of psychological suffering and revealing that thoughts arise on their own with no thinker authoring them.
