Biotech diffusion rates are accelerating

A Nature Biotechnology study found biotech technique diffusion is accelerating: the gap from a frontier discovery to being taught to undergraduates has dropped from 20-25 years a couple generations ago to under five years, high school teaching can lag by as little as 10 years, and transmission from breakthrough to service lab has fallen to two to three years, driven largely by proliferating service labs.
