Flexport flew 500 million masks and PPE items on 80-90 passenger aircraft to US hospitals in March-April 2020 by leasing grounded commercial planes at steep discounts from airlines that had no passenger revenue, and later signed a long-term deal for three dedicated 747 cargo aircraft from Atlas Airlines.
