End of History Misunderstood as Cessation

The 'end of history' thesis did not mean the cessation of events but, in the Hegelian sense, the objective or goal toward which human social development is tending—namely a market economy linked to a liberal democratic political system; the title misled most people who only read it and assumed he claimed events would stop happening.
