Denying religion's role parallels denying racism

Harris argues that denying any link between Islam and jihadist violence is as insane as it would be to diagnose white nationalism as having nothing to do with race and everything to do with economics: when white supremacists explicitly tell us they hate black people and Jews and think whites are superior, and you find a rich racist like Spencer with no economic grievance still posting about 'mud people,' the only explanation is the person's actual ideology—yet on Islam you get pure denial.
