Buddha used the analogy of a chariot to illustrate the concept of no-self: when a chariot is disassembled into its wheels, axle, body, and reins, the 'chariotness' exists only as a convenient label for these parts working together, similarly to how our sense of self is a useful convention but under scrutiny reveals only changing processes.
