Training makes one harder to provoke

Recent training has a direct calming effect on susceptibility to provocation: Thornton reports he is least likely to be goaded into a fight right after training, when it would take an act of God to get him out of his car, and more likely to be provoked after weeks off the mat, demonstrating that physical familiarity with conflict keeps one out of confrontations.

if i've been off the mat for two or three weeks or i've had an injury or something like that i've been isolated and set apart from that side of myself i think now that i'm obviously 54 i've been still be hard to goad me into a fight but you're way more likely to do it if i haven't been training
