Alien Intelligence Could Be Incomprehensibly Superior
If the genetic difference in the intelligence vector between humans and chimps is as small as half a percent, then an alien species five or ten times beyond us on that same vector would find our smartest achievements—Stephen Hawking's black hole theories—as trivial as a toddler stacking boxes, making the SETI search a form of hubris that assumes aliens share our intelligence rather than transcending it entirely.
