Cloud labs abstract away tacit knowledge

Tacit knowledge — the manual dexterity, taste, and nuanced lab skills accumulated over 15 years of higher education that are hard to write down — is currently a major barrier to who can cause biological mayhem, and cloud labs threaten to drastically reduce or even abstract away that barrier, collapsing the gap between having a bad idea and implementing it.
