Greene's new book on the sublime will include a chapter on the Eleusinian Mysteries; he creates a fictional first-person account from a woman's perspective during the 1420s plague (historically inaccurate timing) going into the mysteries and experiencing them subjectively; he recently spoke with people knowledgeable about the mysteries and revised some inaccuracies, trying to combine historical accuracy with subjective emotional experience.
