Male violence is mostly status disputes among fatherless men

A great deal of interpersonal violence, including gang shootings, stems not from financial motives but from immaturity—young men battling other young men over status-based disputes, and this is largely fatherless young men hurting and conflicting with other fatherless young men, which is the majority category of problematic violence.
