Insulin is the most lipogenic hormone
By 1965 it was established, including by Yalow and Berson who created the radioimmunoassay, that insulin is the most lipogenic hormone — it tells lean tissue to take up glucose and tells fat tissue to take up and hold fat — so the more insulin in the blood, the more fat the body accumulates, and insulin is secreted in response to dietary carbohydrate.

“insulin not only tells your lean tissue your muscle cells and your organs to take up glucose... they also tell your fat tissue to take up fat and hold on to fat”
