People habitually judge themselves as bad and impure, but Maharaji modeled the opposite: when devotees called themselves impure he said 'you're not impure, I let you peel potatoes,' and he told Ram Dass to turn in a circle and said 'I don't see any impurity' — pointing to the inherent goodness in everyone.
