J.D. Vance is arguably more ideologically extreme and rigid than Trump and would likely pursue harsher, more Stephen-Miller-esque immigration policy, but he lacks Trump's ability to command a mob—no crowd would storm the Capitol carrying Vance signs—so a President Vance would carry less existential risk.
