Lancers utilize the AAQ-33 Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod which uses a combination of infrared scanning, laser designation, and data recording to identify and track targets for the onboard weapon system to lock on to, and can do this even through smoke and clouds at an altitude of 50,000 feet above the ground.
