The biggest challenge in transitioning to a low-carbon economy is building a durable political coalition around climate action, because without a predictable long-term landscape, entities like utilities, auto manufacturers, and energy producers cannot make the long-term investments needed, and policies and funding (like the Inflation Reduction Act) can be reversed by the next election.
