High Rank Doesn't Increase Testimony Value

In science, the high rank or authority of a witness does not increase the evidential value of their testimony—being human is enough to introduce the risk of misreporting what one has seen—which is precisely why the scientific method exists and why 'it's true because I saw it' is the last thing a scientist can claim at a conference.
