Historical US technological superiority in defense was based on the US investing more, having better engineers, and capitalizing more efficiently to achieve massive technological edge; but this model is shifting because the ability to produce at scale affordably and to innovate fast on software and rapidly adapt capabilities is becoming the determinative characteristic of military superiority.
