Honor tribalism is loyalty to people not ideas

The tribalism of honor cultures differs from how 'tribalism' is used today: rather than identifying with an abstract ideology (political, racial, ethnic), honor-culture members identify with actual people—the concrete community they know and interact with daily—making it a fundamentally different and arguably less dangerous form of collective identification.
