Large Foundations Lose Accountability and Speed

Foundations with many layers of management and spread-out responsibility lose accountability and slow down through multiple sign-offs and rigid annual budgeting, and once they exceed roughly the Dunbar number (~150), one part of the organization no longer knows what another is doing.
