Pure ideological cases exist but are a minority

Harris argues you can find the pure case in any context—a psychologically normal person, not victimized by anything, who becomes committed to an ideology he thinks is true, follows its dictates logically, and comes out a sociopath committed to an abhorrent cause; Khan agrees such cases (and actual sociopaths) exist but insists they are a small minority, with most driven by a messy mixture that always turns out to have other things going on.
