EcoHealth funneled US money to risky Wuhan research

EcoHealth Alliance, led by grant entrepreneur Peter Daszak, drew down roughly $17 million a year from US taxpayers via USAID, NIH and the Pentagon and channeled much of it to the WIV for virus hunting and lab experiments, potentially funding in China gain-of-function-type work that might not have been funded in the US during the funding pause.
