Mandatory Happiness on the Picket Line

Members were required to appear happy while picketing because joyfulness demonstrated they were content with God's ministry and proved they were among God's elect, since scripture says God's commandments should not be grievous to the believer; this juxtaposition of cheerful messengers and damning signs drew much of the church's attention.
