Jung didn't promise individuation (becoming who you really are) would be easy, comfortable, quick, or simple—it requires walking through the valley of not knowing, the desert of not feeling, the void of not being sure of anything; but on the other side is an oasis, not a mirage, something real that doesn't need to be perfect because it's true.
