A small all-cavalry army conquered the world

Genghis Khan's army never exceeded roughly 100,000-110,000 men—small enough to fit in a modern stadium—with no infantry, no baggage train, and (initially) no engineer corps, relying entirely on self-reliant cavalry where each soldier carried dried curd, needle and thread, and used five horses in rotation.
