Economics should study all systems and material betterment

Economics should return to its roots as a social science whose objectives are to study the evolution of all economic systems (not only capitalism) and to improve the material conditions of ordinary human life, following Smith, Marx, Ricardo, and Marshall, rather than confining itself to recent capitalism.
