Alt protein is neglected and tractable

Alternative protein is an extremely high-impact, neglected, and tractable field: while hundreds of billions go to renewable energy R&D annually, total public funding for alternative proteins across all time and all governments is on the order of tens of millions, yet dramatic product improvements have been achieved on a shoestring budget, implying outsized potential returns to added funding.
