Panpsychism Is Implausible And Unmotivated

Panpsychism—the idea that every particle has mental as well as physical properties, only faintly conscious individually but combining into full consciousness in a person—is a surprisingly popular but implausible position; the universe would not look different if it were true, since an electron buzzing with subjectivity would not change how a chair behaves.
