No unified 'we' exists that can collectively solve the metacrisis because the interests of China, the US, wealthy elites, working poor, left and right, different species, and future generations are fundamentally misaligned, and any action one faction takes is opposed by others in zero-sum thinking, making global coordination extremely difficult.
