Despite valid concerns—including that even specialized, non-general machine-learning models could make incredibly destructive smart weapons—Bezos believes these powerful AI tools are on balance much more likely to help and save us than to hurt and destroy us, partly because they may help prevent the many ways humans can make themselves go extinct, an angle the overly concerned may be missing.
