Both movements share honor culture and nostalgic golden-age myth

Both jihadism and white supremacy draw on honor culture (more intense on the jihadist side, southern honor culture on the white supremacist side) and both are nostalgic for a mythical golden past when everything was great, promising to usher that past back in—including forcing women into rigid domestic roles to produce more Muslim babies or white babies respectively.
