Beef Industry Is the Top Driver of Amazon Deforestation

The biggest driver of Amazon deforestation is not palm oil but, by an order of magnitude, feeding the beef industry (including soy grown for cattle feed and dairy), and nothing comes close to beef on an order of magnitude for water consumption and forest loss.
