Thomas Aquinas was the greatest figure in the development of medieval philosophy of Christianity called scholasticism, and his philosophy (Thomism) successfully synthesized Greco-Roman and Christian traditions by incorporating classical pagan learning into Christian theology established after the fall of the Roman Empire.
