Looking at someone like Hitler, the harder question is not whether to stop him but at what point in his life you would have been justified in doing so; even as a baby, he was 'just a baby' without moral culpability for becoming the man he became, and tracing this back reveals that culpability for being oneself cannot be truly located anywhere.
