Definition
An approach to decision-making and action where you systematically anticipate second, third, and further order consequences before implementing solutions. Rather than optimizing for first-order effects (getting CO2 down) without considering what else you're affecting (ocean dead zones), you internalize future externalities into your current choice-making.
