Coase's Law Reversal

Definition

Economic principle inversion: Coase (1930s) argued large organizations exist because internal transaction costs < external transaction costs. Exponential technologies have inverted this—external collaboration platforms (cloud computing, APIs, gig platforms) now have lower transaction costs than internal hierarchies, making small distributed teams more efficient than large organizations.
