Evolutionarily Stable Strategy
Definition
The game-theoretic idea that a state is only stable if it cannot be invaded by an alternative strategy; applied to society, any contented 'I have enough' equilibrium is invadable by a 'want more' mutation, so no true social equilibrium exists.
