Microbiome-consciousness connection

Definition

A model linking ecological destruction at the microbial level to psychological and spiritual dysfunction at the personal level. Ubiquitous antibiotics, pesticides, and chlorinated water destroy the microbial ecosystems in human guts, but these bacteria produce 50-80% of monoamine neurotransmitters (dopamine, serotonin). So environmental destruction of microbiota directly causes the neurobiology of depression, anxiety, and violent orientation.
