Spacetime as Gravitational Field

Definition

The framework, central to general relativity, that Newtonian spacetime and the gravitational field are literally the same entity rather than gravity being a thing that lives within a pre-existing spacetime. Consequently spacetime can stretch, bend, and move, and quantizing gravity necessarily means quantizing spacetime itself.
