Subsidy Price Feedback Loop
Definition
When government subsidizes demand in a market that cannot expand supply freely (imperfect markets, or skill-limited competitive ones), producers raise prices by roughly the subsidy amount and then mobilize beneficiaries to lobby for an even larger subsidy, creating a self-reinforcing cycle of rising prices and rising subsidies.
