Definition

A universal framework explaining that all major problems in the world result from trade-offs where someone optimizes for something (themselves, their group, their nation) at the expense of something else. Problems are either knowingly created (conflict/war) or unknowingly created (negative externalities). Solutions require expanding what people care about and expanding complexity of thinking to include all affected parties.
