Definition

A framework, originating in vision research, that subdivides a perceptual problem into separate anatomical and computational streams—one for identifying what something is and one for locating where it is—and which Poeppel and Hickok adapted to language as a sound-to-meaning stream and a sound-to-articulation stream.
