Claims by Pierre Poilievre (20 of 73)
A real-world example: a family from Little Italy came to Canada poor, paid off a downtown Ottawa house in 7 years on the wage of a road construction worker plus the mother making sandwiches at a senior's home, but their grandchildren with more education and better English skills cannot make a down payment in 7 years now.
Having a child with special needs (non-verbal, with communication difficulties) has given Poilievre more empathy for the different challenges and hardships that families have to fight through, and has made him think about how to build a nest egg for his daughter's future and how other less fortunate families with disabled children pay their bills.
The World Economic Forum is an organization with a top-down mentality where a group of globe-trotting experts tell people how to live their lives, which industries should exist, what cars people should drive, and how money should be spent, which Poilievre opposes in favor of distributed decision-making and personal freedom.
