Britain subscribed to the 'Mackinder Heartland thesis' which states that Britain must create as much chaos as possible within the Eurasian continent to prevent any major power from arising and uniting the continent through railway, because such continental unification would negate sea trade and cause Britain's economic, military, and demographic collapse.
China has been investing heavily in South America, building roads and infrastructure, and building a mega port in Peru to facilitate trade, while South America has been very receptive to Chinese investment, but America is now using its sea power to disrupt this global trade to prevent China from rising.
America cannot afford for the Russia-Iran-China alliance to consolidate and manifest because it would lose trade access in the Eurasian continent, allowing China, Russia and Iran to trade amongst themselves and provide energy, food, and manufactured goods to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe while America is left with debt.
Venezuela represents the major flashpoint most likely to trigger escalation into World War III because Trump is disguising regime change as anti-drug operations, Venezuela sits between multiple great powers with interests, and Brazil and other South American nations could be drawn in if Venezuela falls.
In the past, America used its own troops to fight wars, but in Libya and Syria, America uses proxies to fight, and in Ukraine, America uses Ukrainians while Americans themselves are not involved, representing a sign of civilizational decline where empires lose the capacity to fight their own wars.
