Is the concept of voting with your feet and leaving the city, state or country that is your home defeatist? Instead, should we be concentrating on staying, and reforming our own communities?
The degree to which a distorted currency distorts reality is certainly underappreciated outside of Bitcoin, and the wide ranging implications of Bitcoin as a global monetary system are yet to be seen, but rather than exiting the system, by staying and cleaning it up we will see what Bitcoin can actually fix.

Britain does not have formal free speech protections and has coercive pressure laws, unlike the US, forcing public figures to carefully consider their words or risk legal/social consequences.

Central banks will eventually buy Bitcoin in massive quantities and issue CBDCs (central bank digital currencies) backed by Bitcoin, then will break the peg and return to fiat, repeating the historical cycle of monetary debasement and collapse that occurred with the gold standard
“the truth is this is a hard truth to hear but the truth is that central banks are going to buy Bitcoin in tremendous quantities and then they're going to issue cbdc's against Bitcoin there's nothing that is intrinsic to bitcoin that prevents a sovereign from issuing a currency against Bitcoin and then what they're going to do is they're gonna break the peg and then they're gonna go full Fiat again”
Most U.S. Presidential nominees are now pro-Bitcoin and many Congress members are turning pro-Bitcoin, indicating a major political shift.

Bitcoin adoption is fundamentally about community organization and civic responsibility, not about radical ideology or revolutionary transformation, making it more similar to boring grandmother advice than to extremism.

ChatGPT is useful for generating first drafts and policy documents but frequently hallucinates or provides false information when asked specific factual questions, and should be treated as a junior associate that requires human review.
“so it's just a policy this is our policy how we will yeah yeah be a non uh yeah basically you have an intern who works for you for for 30 a month or whatever the chat yeah it is yeah right yeah and so we're using it like this all the time”
ChatGPT is rapidly improving through new versions (GPT-4, with 5, 6, 7 expected) and will become progressively better at answering factual questions accurately and completing complex tasks.
“no and how much you can do now and we're already on chat gpt4 what about five six seven they're gonna get better for sure it's clearly going to accelerate past us yeah and be like super [ __ ] good”
Bitcoin reforms and social change require staying in one's home community ('voice') rather than exiting to seek better conditions elsewhere, and staying enables one to create meaningful change and status within one's local community.
“had you simply absconded right had you gone to Malta or had you gone to El Salvador or had you come to America do you think you would have the same feeling of meaning in your life and satisfaction no absolutely not no because look I'm from Bedford right”
Fiat currency extraction of wealth from the future (through inflation and debt) is fundamentally unjust because future generations are born into bondage and inherit debt rather than opportunity.

To break the Tytler cycle, Bitcoin-supporting culture must instill understanding across generations that monetary debasement is a grave evil, such that future leaders fear the consequences of breaking Bitcoin's money supply cap more than they fear immediate pressure.

The American judicial system still functions reasonably well as an arbiter of truth, and if you have sufficient resources and good attorneys you can defend yourself effectively in American courts.
“I mean I think what's interesting about the US is that uh you know there is a lot of corruption in the US but our judiciaries actually working pretty well our Judiciary our court system is still working pretty good I think and it is like sort of the Arbiter of Truth Now is it perfect no and it's never been perfect but it's working about as well as it ever worked...if you are well funded and have the right attorneys you have the ability to defend yourself in America”
Toxic/maximalist Bitcoin discourse culture won't scale to institutional audiences, requiring reformed figures who still understand Bitcoin deeply to communicate with asset managers and governments while maintaining core principles.
“I think that the toxic pleb culture will not scale into asset managers they will need the rest they're not going to be toxic yeah they're going to need almost like the reform huddles it's you coming from that and being like serious hot or that reformed person who still has a sense of humor”

The Bitcoin community's process of consensus change is brutal and contentious as a protective mechanism to ensure that changes don't slip by without scrutiny, which selects for individuals willing to endure extreme criticism and see proposals through.
“I think that the process of doing Bitcoin uh interior uh social change or consensus change is uh extremely brutal process and we make it that way like culturally in Bitcoin so that things don't just slip by right... if you want to change you know Bitcoin at a protocol level you want to do like a contentious soft work well you're gonna have to endure a lot of [ __ ] right and we've seen that with all of the guys you know like Jeremy Rubin comes to mind yeah uh Paul stork who's been pushing drive chain for a long time like you're gonna have to endure quite a bit of [ __ ]”
The XRP/Ripple SEC court case represents an example where bitcoiners benefit from any outcome: if SEC wins, it's authoritarian overreach; if Ripple wins, it's a defeat for regulatory capture, and both victories advance Bitcoin's interests.
“it was funny when the SEC lost I think it's funny if they win I enjoyed the whole thing yeah... I think that's brilliant and that's how I feel I thought it was funny when the SEC lost I think it's funny if they win”
Bedford has a massive solar farm where 50% of generated energy is curtailed, representing an opportunity to place Bitcoin mining rigs there to convert waste energy into revenue.
“we've also got all this soap we've got massive solar farm in Bedford I think I think I have 50 of the energy is being curtailed great let's put a mining rig there yeah now you've got revenue you said you've got no money we've got revenue”
The Citadel concept, where wealthy individuals build fortified communities to separate themselves from the poor, is fundamentally a bad idea that Pete opposes because it perpetuates class division rather than addressing community problems.
“I hate the Citadel concept I've always hated it it always smacked off I'm rich I'm going to build a fence to keep out the poor keep out the peasants yeah I've always [ __ ] hated that concept”
The most successful Bitcoin adoption projects around the world (Bitcoin Park in Nashville, Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador, and emerging projects in Berlin, Amsterdam, Austin, Miami, Wyoming, and now Bedford) are using the principle of meeting people where they are culturally.
“this is why I [ __ ] love Bitcoin park right yeah I've gone down there multiple times now Harry rod and Odell are like busting their balls to make this work... it's working you know we've got hundreds of people here this week they've got 40 events across the year... we've got these nodes all around the world you can call up to any of those you can hop to El Zante in El Salvador you can come to Bedford”
A lot of the criticism Pete receives from certain bitcoiners comes because he refuses to be audience-captured by maximalist ideology and instead promotes inclusive Bitcoin adoption including bringing more women and diverse people into Bitcoin.
“I've always pushed back like I think we need more women in Bitcoin people hate me saying that I think we need more uh um diverse people in Bitcoin because people you're going to meet them where they are people don't like that”
If one has sufficient Bitcoin wealth that continues to appreciate, it becomes easy to do charitable work and support community projects because wealth increases faster than one can spend it, so giving away Bitcoin becomes a natural consequence of holding.
“you know that 10x you give Bitcoin away right yeah yeah and every four years that gets easier because your wealth increasing of value quicker than you can spend it yeah someone needs an operation a project for um in Thailand for uh orphanage where they needed football goals just you can just do that”
Pete's will is structured so his children can access limited funds for a house deposit but must work to earn the mortgage, and the majority of his wealth (80-90%) won't be accessible to them until age 40, ensuring they maintain a work ethic and understand earned wealth.
“the way my will is structured is there is money they can access so if they want to buy a house there is money to pay a deposit but not to buy the house so you have to have a job so you can pay a mortgage... the maximum they can get is 15 for their deposit right and then there's different pools that come to them like 25 there's like a small amount and the 30 is a bigger amount but like the vast majority is like 80 90 is when they're 40”
OG bitcoiners should operate as 'Bene Gesserit from Dune'—working behind the scenes through whisper campaigns to ensure that new influential voices and asset managers stay aligned with Bitcoin's core principles.
“I think the ogs like you know which you're becoming OG I'm becoming OG I think I think we uh we're kind of like the benad Jesuit from Dune we like show up and we like do whisper campaigns”
The UK and US legal systems, while having flaws, still provide fairer due process and better chances for wealthy defendants to mount a defense compared to Romanian legal system.
“if you're in a foreign land with a legal system that you don't understand uh how are you gonna effectively fight back you're gonna end up you know getting tated like the thing that happened Andrew Ted is going to happen to you you're going to be dealing with the Romanian lawyer in a language you don't understand trying to figure out a legal system you don't understand and the best you can do is appeal to Western media so I'm going to push back on the tape thing a little bit”
Each bull run in Bitcoin history has a 'hero'—a prominent figure who advances Bitcoin adoption significantly; sailor was the hero of the last cycle and Larry Fink may be the hero of this cycle.
“you know every Bull Run has a hero yeah and sailor was the last one and this one might be Larry Fink [ __ ] Larry thing”
Larry Fink's filing of a BlackRock Bitcoin ETF represents a major signal to the institutional investment world that Bitcoin is a legitimate asset class, more important than whether one agrees with BlackRock philosophically.
“when Odell's up there saying look [ __ ] BlackRock you know buy Bitcoin Casino yeah 100 right Harry is like but look at the signal that's all we need to care about Larry Fink Larry Fink is telling every asset manager in the world you can and you should have Bitcoin”
Bitcoin's meaningfulness to Pete is rooted in the fact that it allows him to gift wealth to the future rather than extract wealth from the future, breaking the fiat system's cycle of stealing from the unborn through debt

Pete's Bitcoin holdings in the Rail Bedford treasury started at 2.17 Bitcoin at the beginning of the season and grew to over 5 Bitcoin by the current point, and the plan is to never spend this Bitcoin because it will appreciate faster than spending it, allowing the club to be in a continuously stronger financial position than competitors.
“everything we've ever sold for Bitcoin or any money we take in Bitcoin we've left in our treasury it was 2.17 Bitcoin at the start of the season by the end it was over three Bitcoin with the things we sold now it's over five Bitcoin...I will never spend that Bitcoin because it gets the stage where we get to like the championship and maybe we got 20 30 50 whatever Bitcoin that Bitcoin could be worth Millions tens of millions we're constantly in a better financial position than the people are up against”
The SEC's loss in the XRP case was caused by faulty legal reasoning in the court's decision, and legal experts believe the decision will likely be overturned on appeal within about a year.
“I talked to some lawyer friends and they think it'll be overturned in like a year or so so like it has faulty reasoning within the within the document and so it's likely to be overturned”
Monarchies are preferable to democracies when working (Marcus Aurelius was an excellent monarch), but the problem is succession: inheritance by blood produces Commodus (cruel) or Joffrey (spoiled), making the system unreliable.
“monarchy is the best system when it works when it works monarchy is [ __ ] great I mean who wouldn't want to live under Marcus Aurelius right like I would want to live under Marcus realist the problem is uh you get that for about 40 years and then you have Marcus aurelius's [ __ ] bag son Commodus”
The real enemies of social progress are the Nobles (corrupt capitalist class, cantillionaires) who use state power as a weapon, not the Monarchs or bureaucrats, and fighting them is an ongoing protracted battle.
“the problem with uh systems like monarchy or democracy is not the Monarch or you know the the bureaucrats it's the Nobles the Nobles are always the problem okay the Nobles are actually who big winners are fighting against the Nobles are the cantillionaires they are the corrupt capitalist class who uses the state as a husk as a weapon as a shield against the poor”
The best bitcoiners can hope for against entrenched elites is to get about half the seats at the table in a new elite structure, as old elites can port their wealth directly into Bitcoin without any technological barrier.
