Triton moves in the opposite direction to Neptune's rotation and is forced closer and closer to Neptune due to tidal forces, such that in a few hundred million years it will collide with Neptune, be ripped apart, and form a much denser ring system around Neptune similar to Saturn's appearance.

“it moves in the opposite direction to neptune's rotation at the same time it's fairly close to neptune so incredible tidal forces are created due to gravitation these forces are believed to be responsible for the cold volcanism of the geysers in the long run triton isn't going to remain in this position it is forced closer and closer to neptune”
