Calling a 1-or-2-degree rise in temperature 'dangerous' (as in Jim Hansen's 2006 paper) is not a scientific term and can only be justified by a belief in a constancy of nature that shouldn't be changed; thus the balance-of-nature idea underlies much of the global warming alarm.
