Conventionally smart, conformist AI may itself deepen stagnation rather than break it—producing infinite mediocre output like a Netflix algorithm and displacing workers—because breaking stagnation may require heterodox, non-conformist smart people willing to run crazy experiments, whereas 'woke' (conformist) intelligence cannot make the difference.
