Nixon and Reagan, while anti-communist, were not anti-CCP because in the 1970s-80s Nixon had to focus on the Soviet Union and China had one-fifth of Soviet GDP, making them a U.S. ally against the USSR; but today China has 5-6x Russia's GDP, making Xi a far bigger threat than Putin, requiring a strategic update from the Nixon-Reagan framework.
